Sinningia

The best known members of this genus are the Florist Gloxinias (Sinningia speciosa hybrids) which are identified below. They are all grown from tubers and have exceptionally showy flowers. Some go dormant in winter, but many start new growth before the old growth dies back.

Sinningias can be fragile plants. We grow and send them in 2¼ inch plastic pots. Occasionally, the fragile tops might break off during unpacking. With proper care, they will resprout from their tubers and grow fairly quickly.
