Closely related to the giant granadilla (Passiflora quadrangularis), it is hardier to cold and bears larger, sweetly fragrant 5 to 6 inch flowers of deep carmine-crimson which cover the plant in summer and fall. It must be cross-pollinated with pollen from another clone or species to produce its delicious 5 inch yellow fruits. Tropical looking 6 inch oval glossy green leaves and free blooming habit. Native to eastern Brazil, northeast Peru. Minimum temperature 32F.
