Family: Rubiaceae NEW! 2010 - This award winning gardenia produces an abundance of large double sweetly fragrant blooms from late spring through mid-summer. Grows 3 to 4 feet high as a bushy shrub with glossy narrow green foliage. Because of its compact habit, it makes a fine container plant. It's more tolerant of frost than most and will not likely drop its buds from the cold. Also, reported to be fairly insect resistant. Plant in full sun to part shade in moist, well-drained acid soil. Winner of the '2007 Garden Writers Best Plants Award'. USDA zones 7 -10
