Quantity in Basket: None

Family: Acanthaceae

Dense spreading tropical groundcover with beautiful 1 inch dark green leaves colored maroon on the reverse. Spreading growth habit to 1 foot high. Flowers not notable. In the U.S., this plant is uncommon. However, it is widely used as an aquarium plant in Eastern Europe. Grows in shade with ample moisture. Makes a nice groundcover in a conservatory or greenhouse or planted in a hanging basket. Probably not frost tolerant. Our guess is USDA zones 10 - 11. Native to SE Asia. Unfortunately, we are not able to verify its correct botanical name.
