Family: Asclepiadaceae

Either Cryptostegia grandiflora or Cryptostegia madagascariensis, we won't know until it blooms and we can dissect the flowers. Evergreen shrubby climber with showy rose-pink bell-shaped flowers, 2 to 3 inches long. The waxy dark green leaves are very ornamental. Since the white latex sap is poisonous, trim with care. The India Rubber Vine is originally from Madagascar. It was grown there and in India to produce rubber latex during WWII. Salt tolerant. USDA zones 10 - 11.
