Family: Balsaminaceae Clusters of ornately shaped orange-red and yellow 1 inch flowers are produced all year on dark brown succulent stems. Foliage brightly variegated green and chartreuse. With some pinching, a young plant assumes the look of an odd miniature tree a foot tall. 'Golden Cockatoo' arose as a sport of Impatiens niamniamensis at a nursery in Essex, England 20 years ago.
