NEW! 2008 - This sensational rare Impatiens sports FRAGRANT large 3 inch pure white orchid like flowers with dark red centers. Grows with a large open habit from a large tuberous rootstock to 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Blooms from July through October and then goes deciduous to reemerge from the ground in the spring. Some say its fragrance is like Plumeria or Gardenia. Grow in part shade in rich, moist soil. Plant in a large enough container, as tuberous roots may end up breaking it. Hardy perennial for USDA zones 7 - 11, although dislikes heat. Native to high elevations of Central Africa. Recently someone sold a plant of this on eBay for the amazing price of $86.00.
