Family: Melastomataceae
NEW! 2008 - Very similar to Tibouchina heteromalla and Tibouchina 'Grandiflora' with very large leaves and large panicles of 1.5 inch purple flowers. However, it differs in having thicker leaves and rounded stems, instead of the usual square ones. Probably grows 5 to 6 ft tall in partial shade. Zones 10 - 11.
