Family: Bignoniaceae

The "Garlic Vine" is a dense evergreen woody climber festooned with exquisite 3 inch purple trumpet-shaped flowers, fading with age to lavender, then to white. It's spectacular in full bloom as these various shades of color are on the vine at the same time. Blooms in spring and again in fall. Named because the crushed leaves emit a garlic odor. Plant in full sun with regular watering. Grows 20 to 30 feet. Hardy to 35F. Its natural range is from Mexico to Brazil and Peru.
