This low growing groundcover has broad coppery brown leaves with silver patches along the midrib and tiny silver dots clustered along the veins. Leaves to 6 inches long and 4½ inches wide. It can grow 1 to 3 feet high and 2 feet wide. Blooming from early summer to fall, the plants are adorned with racemes of small purple flowers. Plant in partial shade to full shade with a moist well-drained soil. Propagate from cuttings or seed. In temperate areas, treat as an annual. From Mexico and Central America.
