Family: Acanthaceae Irregularly margined leaves of rich laquered purple with zones of grey green and pink on maroon stems. One inch white flowers with purple spots are held in terminal racemes. This erect shrub grows from 2' to 3' in temperate climates, and 5' to 6' in the tropics. Plants are best in partial shade, with full sun fading the color. Minimum temperature 40F.
