NEW! - This tree is a strangler fig from tropical central and southern Africa. In the wild, it can grow up to 60 feet tall with a rounded crown and a huge buttressed trunk. It sends out a large number of dangling aerial roots, which often wrap around its own trunk or, when young, strangle a tree that it might be using for support. Its small dark 2 inch leaves are rounded or blunt-tipped. Pollination is by a specific African species of wasp. It's a fast grower, if given adequate moisture and warmth. Popular for use as an outstanding bonsai subject. USDA zones 10 - 12.
