Family: Liliaceae
Sometimes called "Peruvian Lilies", Alstroemerias are famous as fancy cut flowers in many bright colors. Although most of these are summer dormant, this Brazilian species is different in that it is nearly evergreen and generally much easier to grow. Bright red and green flowers on long stalks are produced over a long spring and summer season and the plant is compact. 25 F.
