Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Hercules'

"Hercules Calla Lily"
Zantedeschia aethiopica Hercules

Code: 80012

Price: $11.50

Family: Araceae

This is the real 'Hercules'. A giant of the callas to 5 feet high with huge white flowers. Rare. We purchased this plant from Western Hills Nursery in Northern California 25 years ago. Our variety does not have spotted leaves. Western Hills also offered a form of 'Hercules' with some spotting on the leaves, which is the form that Strybing Arboretum grows as 'Hercules'. It's sometimes available at their plant sales. Both of these are forms of 'Hercules'.

The 'Spotted Giant' (see our offering) that we offer has more extensive spotting on the leaves and is a different variety.

Note: As these are starter plants in 2 3/4" pots, it will probably take a couple of seasons to reach flowering size. It seems that climate has a lot to do with the eventual size of calla lilies. Those grown in the San Francisco Bay area usually grow much larger than if the same varieties are grown in Southern California.
