NEW! 2009 - This is a refined more compact selection of the princess flower with a more tightly branching habit. Profusion of royal purple flowers from late spring through fall. This evergreen shrub with dark green velvety leaves and reddish venation can grow to 7 feet and wide unpruned. Plant in a protected location in full sun or part shade. Needs regular watering, rich organic soil, and feeding with acid-type fertilizer. Mulch to keep the roots cool. Attracts butterflies. USDA zones 9b - 11.
