Rare shrub with clusters of unusual 1 inch starfish-shaped flowers, sweetly scented. The long, slender pale petals are yellow with rusty red towards the center. This large rambling or vining evergreen shrub has whorled narrow glossy leaves. Grows to 6 feet high in sun or part shade with adequate summer moisture. Can be pruned to be a lax, arching shrub. Ground-up seeds used to poison arrow tips in its native South Africa. USDA zones 9 - 11.
